I only ask you, Alton, if you are in need of a new webmaster, because it seems odd that the site bearing your name is, well to it put bluntly, not that good. Perhaps, your webmaster only does this gig part-time and is overwhelmed with other duties you have assigned. Maybe said person is on a permanent vacation.
Whatever the case maybe, I find it sad that your own website still lists in the "Where's AB" section your appearance from February and that less than two months out from the start of your fall book tour those dates and locations are nowhere to be found on your own site. How our your the fans going to know about the tour?

Oh wait, I think they have a place to find that information.
There's this one site that has complete listing of your fall book tour dates, information on other events (like the Fabulous Food Show), your upcoming show America's Best and that segment on Sesame Street. Yeah, that site has a lot of information on it. Maybe you should consider striking up a deal with the webmaster of that site to help you out.
Therefore, this is why I highly recommend myself for the position. As you can see from my work, I'm not half bad at this webmaster thing. I'm a Mac user, by the way, if that helps.
I'll even go one better and say I will offer to whip your website back in to shape for free. Yes for free.
AB, give me three months to get your site back up to par. If you like what I've done keep me around, if not tell me to hit the road. Or, relinquish control of your site's url and hand it over to someone who will give it attention to make it a valuable resource for you.
Anyway you go, Alton, you wouldn't lose any money and your fans will get an informative, fun site. Just a thought.

Hear, hear! Point well made, Lisa.
I like the look of his website, but it's soooo out of date. Yes, it needs to be kept up! Have you written a letter to Be Square and made the offer to maintain it? I wonder if you'd get a response from them/him.
You could email his publicist. Isn't that their job?
I really don't know who handles it for him, but it is serious need of updating.
If he gave you a chance, he wouldn't be sorry. I wish he would.
You're certainly capable and earnest enough, along with trustworthy, honest, respectful, dedicated....need I go on?
You should do it anyway. I know a number of web designers that got jobs by redesigning sites and then presenting the finished product to their target. They were so impressed that they were hired.
If I had away to send him the redesigned site, I would try that angle. Unfortunately, in my past attempts at trying to get somewhere with Mr. Brown (ie the interview) I have fallen flat on my face. He's a hard person to impress, I suppose.
He's a pompous ass any way, right? ;)
Too bad there isn't more useful information on his site. I liked when he had the rant and raves. Best one was about how he looks better in tights than Orlando Bloom. LMAO.
I use to think AB was a decent enough fellow until I started reading here a few months ago.
Anyone with a speck of decency would have thanked you for all the information you provide to his fans that they can't get on his site. Even in a half-assed way.
And would it kill him to sit down and talk with you for an interview? Hardly.
Methinks, AB has lost touch with his regular ole fans. Especially one who does who out performs his own site continually.
He should let you take over his site. Not a lot you could harm when its already dead.
So true CG. Breaks my heart. For Lisa, especially, who is one of my dearest friends, but also for him.
The way he's acted has, sadly changed my opinion about him, I think he's misguided, and misinformed. It would be beneficial for him to "Free His Mind" as the old En Vogue song says.
Who knows. Anything is possible....maybe.
Thanks to everyone who commented.
But the truth is I don't hold much hope that Mr. Brown really cares for his own website, given that he's anti-social networking and anti-blogging.
As for the interview, I'm not a real journalist in his eyes and since I no longer have press credentials, that's a lost cause too.
I agree Lisa . its a shame someone doesnt put his book tour on . I bet more people would comme if he PROmoted himself .
Carrie
I find it odd that his site has no way of finding things, but you can look at pages in his books and his turkey derrek, but you can't look for other things. It's so set into when he did his Feasting On shows, that it really does need to be updated.
