I found this especially fabulous because I spent my fair share of time doing student productions. My undergrad degree was in mass communications and the better half of my college career was in the studio or editing bay. One of the reasons I admire AB so much because he says he's still a filmmaker at heart. To me, that shows in his projects and that greatly appeals to me, besides the passion he has for cooking.
And as a former film student, I know what he meant by eyeline (not makeup, btw) and the location audio! I still have problems with that! And I want to say: AB, I used film too and no computers so don't feel too old.

Anyway, enough babble on to AB's video...

AWESOME FIND!!
I too, have been a filmmaker!
I was making claymation films in high school with my friends, using super 8 film. Editing on a machine that I had to hand crack the film through! Also, I remember using scotch tape because I ran out of splicing film!
Later I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, studying Music Video Production. There we used camcorders. HUGE things! Really heavy, but so much fun!
Brought back some good memories.
I still make videos on occassion, and I often wonder...If I had stuck with it, would I have made a TV commercial or video with AB?
I've never been a film maker. Never had it in me. I've always wanted to work with kids. HIs speech for accepting his award was the funnest thing that I have ever heard. I was having a bad night, and then I heard him talk on this, and he made me realize that what was bringing me down, shouldn't be, ald to be more into what I like more than what makes me upset.
