Alton Brown will be featured in the "Eat, Drink and be Merry!" episode of CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday 11/22. Be sure watch, set the DVR, or whatever. :)
Cute segment, but I have an observation, especially for Lisa and Lauren: Don't you two thing that the weight loss translates badly over tv? I mean they say the camera adds 10 lbs, but he just looked sooo thin this morning. I said to a friend "He looks like an attractive pencil-j/k'. But having seen him in person, he looks healthy, and energetic, and not at all ill. What do you gals think?
He's certain full of energy. The live Good Eats event he was in top form and I attended the 2nd show. Then after two 3hr shows he did the meet and greet.
In DC he did a book signing in the morning and his lecture in the evening with another signing. He was great then too.
I've never bought into "the camera adds ten pounds" thing. I went to the book signing in Brookline & thought he looked fantastic.
And I even thought he looked just fine in that one brief glimpse on the show this morning where I admittedly exclaimed "the bee tattoo!" when they showed him only in a towel.
I think he was in the white pants for the Colonel's costume, Lauren, not a towel. (I'm pretty sure about that 'cause I rewound it a number of times.....I don't know what came over me! lol...;) I think he looks great, it just takes some time to get used to the difference.
Oh, so, we're going THERE...hmm...:) Ok, then, I'll join in. The tat! But, more importantly....THE SHOULDERS, GIRLS, THE WIIIIIIIIIIIDE SHOULDERS. And, I've rewound it, more than once. For shame! :)
We'd best behave. :) If he ever read here, what would the man think? Actually, he'd probably be flattered. And yeah, I think it was the waistband of the pants, too, which looked a little big for him. I can't wait for the chicken and dumplings episode! Col. Boatwright makes me laugh like a 4 year old!
Is there videa to this??? I don't think that my area gets this, but I could be wrong. I never saw anything for it on Sunday moring tv where I live, and I am hoping for video of this. I was really looking forward to this.
Speaking of having one's breath taken away...can we talk about NIC? In a tux, girls. *thud*. Something about blondes in black, and I usually don't go for blondes... Lisa, we're going to have to blame FN, too...:) Can we substitute a sprinkler for the hose? ;)
As much as I LOVE a good tux, which he wore the hell out of to be sure, I'm a black t-shirt kind of girl. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a reappearance of the beard. That's what I'm talking about.
Maybe one of you ladies who have it on your DVR could take a picture of it or something?!?! I keep hearing about this shirtless-ness and it's killing me that I missed it!!!!
I'm trying to finish off my DVD that I recorded that segment on. It's near the end & still have at least one more program on my DVR to record off of, so we shall see how it goes.
Oh, the scruff. I do so love the scruff. :) On my DVD collection he is WORKING the scruff, and a black turtle-neck, during the "Ask Alton" segments. My intended makes sure leave the room during those times, as he can't abide the squeeing and sighing that ensues. LOL!
I looked on hulu.com it's not there. I think they wait 7 days after a show airs before adding it. I don't know about you all but I don't think I can wait that long!
