Cool podcast interview with Alton Brown called "Table Conversations." He is talking with a journalist from Tampa Bay Online about a recent debate over a salt ban in NYC.

Thanks for the link, what a great interview!

AB is funny and witty as always. And key point to remember if I ever see AB reach for Tabasco things must be pretty bad! HA!

Thanks to AB I am a primarily kosher salt girl, and those little salt cellars are awesome!
But I do use the fancy smanchy salts as well, as I can tell the difference in the different kinds by taste. And do enjoy the fun colors and textures and tastes. But use those sparingly. And have a cool little salt serving dish with wee bitty little serving spoons for a fancy dinner, that I just love! :-)

Thanks again for the link!

I have two salt cellars. One from AB's website and a non-AB one. I use the non-AB one and the other is in still in the box.

Thanks to Alton, I, too, am a kosher salt gal. I like to get those grinder sea salt things too.

he's so cool. funny, natural and very gracious. wow, what a difference a good host makes. how refreshing for AB not to have to carry the whole show like that DISASTER of an interview he had with those schmucks in Miami.

also, I ordered it the other day and my own AB salt cellar is being shipped to me as we speak :)

I order the set of three. The two colored ones will be going to work with me (to hold paper clips & rubber bands). The clear will remain home in its box. ;)

I have the clear salt cellar from AB's website and use it religiously. I even took it with me to one of his appearances and he signed the inside of the lid. It is one of my most cherished possessions.
