Pinky and Alton Brown

Alton Brown will be discussing wild salmon in the newest Good Eats episode, Monday night at 8 p.m. Last year, AB partnered with Alaska Seafood and did a nice little video on sustainable seafood. This is what he's talking about at the Smithsonian later this month.

On their website, you can download the webisode script for it! Am I the only dork squealing over this? It's the A/V geek in me, but I love having the script. Get a copy here.

Back to the new episode, it was filmed back in May or at least the Alaska part filmed then. An article from The Anchorage Daily News AB talks about Copper River salmon. He also makes mention of holding a camera, filming, so I'm assuming this footage will make it to the episode.

Food Network has the recipes up on the their site, check them out here.

It may not be cheap eats, but wild salmon sure is good eats and it's good for you too. One of the local mega-marts has it on sale right now for $10 a pound.

I'm not sure if the mega-marts around me ever have wild salmon.

Probably will have to venture to the one in the swanky part of town and check out if that one carries it.

Yeah, not sure I've ever seen Wild Salmon in a mega-mart before.

But on one of my land stops during an Alaskan cruise, we visited a salmon hatchery, and stocked up on some of their gourmet smoked filets. *drool*

The Charleston area BI-LOs have wild Alaskan Sockeye salmon fillets for $7.99/lb with their bonus card... $10.99 without the card. And, the Whole Foods here have it also.

I'm guessing AB will pick his salmon up at Whole Foods or maybe a local fish monger.

I wish there were some Whole Foods stores in where I live. There is a fresh seafood place nearby. I'll try there. That is if AB makes me want to run out and buy wild salmon ;)

Hey Dora, thanks for stopping by and you're welcome.

I love copper river salmon, it's so delicous...we used to have it every July 4th on the BBQ out west...and it melts in your mouth.

When I read your blog title, I laughed out loud..."Pinky and the Brain." LOL!

Great post and geek away, hubby and I collect movie scripts.

YAY!!! Someone admitted to getting the 'Pinky and the Brain' reference!

Hugs fellow geek :D

I buy frozen wild salmon at Costco. Convenient and cheap at about (if I remember correctly) $26 for 3 lbs.
