TIVO is my best friend

As the new topics Alton Brown will teach us on episodes of Good Eats begin to air, I turn to sources other than Food Network's lame website for details about the show. This morning my tivo's to do list has reached Feb 2. YAY!

What's with the excitement?

An other new episode AND details about said episode.

"'Orange Aid'-- Alton uses oranges to create a classic drink, a topping, and a creamy cold dessert."

For those with season passes on the ol' tivo, note it is being listed as a repeat. So, if you set to only grab new ones, check. :)

The dumb ol' FN website still has Feb 2 8 p.m. slot empty and NO recipes! Sheesh.

Out of curiosity, how many of Alton's DVDs do you have? I've thought about starting to collect them but there's just so many! There's a guy on eBay selling every Series but the first (the first being VHS only, I believe) for $99.. almost seems worth it!

Wow, that rocks. I'm getting really OCD about Altonizing my kitchen.. is "Gear For Your Kitchen" a definitive collection of everything he uses on the show? I ask under the assumption you have it, and because the book is nearly 6 years old now.

That's the main reason I want the DVDs, to catalog all his gadgets. Probably wishful thinking, but I want to at least be close one day, when I've settled down with a REAL kitchen.

My first get.. a #20 disher for 2.99 on eBay.. lol

Did you shell out for a KitchenAid Artisan mixer? And if so, where did you take it to get the flame paint job?? (JOKING) But what kind of mixer do you have?

I love the Gear book. It has stuff AB has recommends on the show plus lots of stuff he hasn't had on GE. I use it was my reference guide when I want to buy something for the kitchen I check it.

BTW, I have 3 copies of it ;) Two 1st ed, hardback. Bought one new and got one used ;) And the 1st ed of the paperback. :D

I have a classic Kitchen Aid mixer (white). It was on sale at Linen N Things, plus I had a gift card :)

No flames... yet. But I've thinking about painting some on!!
