The winner was so lucky to get AB to redesign her kitchen. That would be a dream come true for me. Glad I didn't enter the contest, because I would have been sad for not winning.
Anyway, there's some cool segments, like Alton and the winner shopping to make dinner in the new kitchen. Heck, I'd be happy with him just coming to my house and cooking with me, no need to remodel my kitchen. The other awesome thing from the this show, this picture of Alton from back in his cameraman days. Kinda before they where star thing.

My family did enter this contest. Obviously, we didn't win. :( Our entry was called Brownielocks and the Three Kitchens 'This kitchen is too old. This kitchen is too new. This kitchen is just right... but it could use a makeover.' Pure brilliance, right? ;)
Basically, my mother broke into a house with three kitchens to bake brownies and an AB-like character caught her, so she took off, leaving the brownies. After she highlighted all the makeover-worthy bits of the 'just right' kitchen, of course.
We now have experienced the difficulties of the appliance cam, as we stuck a camera in the fridge for one shot and the darned door kept getting away from us and closing at inopportune moments. Oh, well. At least we have proof the light goes out when the door closes.

Alton, marble is metamorphosed limestone, not granite! Since marble is composed of calcium carbonate it will react with acid- unlike granite.
Just got thru watching it and thinking... "dang was she lucky!" Not only did she get AB to design her new kitchen, but she got to cook with him, go food shopping with him and then, got to be on GE! I'd just be happy than a pig in slop with just one of those things!
After seeing that pix of the young AB behind the camera... well, now I see where he may have gotten the idea for his current long hair. Looks a wee bit familiar, hummmm...
